Project Benefits

Trans Bay Cable is an environmentally sound energy transmission project that will transport up to 400 megawatts of power from Pittsburg to San Francisco. The cable will transport already existing energy from the Pittsburg Substation and therefore, does not require any new power generation. The Pittsburg Substation receives power from a variety of energy sources, including renewables such as hydropower, geothermal and wind.
